Stabler (left) and Benson (right) in the SVU e...

Lately I find myself spending less and less time watching t.v., and more and more time visiting my favorite blogs.  I seem to have traded one addiction for the other. It use to be Law & Order SVU marathons, and now its Mommy’s Hangout, Theta Mom, Just Bloggled and so many more.

My warm and comfy bed has been replaced by my not so comfortable computer chair, and my eyes are now glued to the computer screen instead of the big screen.

I can’t seem to get enough, and just when I think I’m all blogged out, I discover 12 new blogs I had no idea existed (thanks to entrecard and blogrolls), and I’m hooked all over again.

I’ve become so consumed with reading the blogs I follow that I seem to have started neglecting some of my other duties.  Like washing clothes regularly (just finished washing 9 loads this weekend, just to catch up),  putting the kids to bed on time (I’ve convinced myself that they’ll fall asleep when they get tired…yeah right!), and even cleaning (if I wasn’t embarrassed to take a picture of my room, you’d know what I mean…lol!).

It can easily become an overwhelming task, leaving me wondering why I even bother, yet my face is still glued to the computer screen every night, skimming through post after post and wishing there was more time in the day to get through them all.
So my question to everyone is, how do you manage all of the blogs you follow?

Do you subscribe by email, visit them daily, schedule a time just for blog reading, or just skim and move on.  I would love to know.

Okay, I may be a little emotional right now, but it’s understandable since my little girl started private school today.  She the youngest of my two (she’ll be 3 Dec. 1st), and probably my last, so not only is this a momentous occasion, but a sad one at the same time.

Not quite 3 years ago, I was holding her in my arms (after giving birth), trying to figure out why she looked more like my dad than either one of us.  SInce that time, she’s grown so fast.  Unlike her brother, she loves being independent and has been ready to start school since she first learned the word.  So for her, this has been a long time coming, especially since she’s had to watch her brother get on and off the school bus for 2 years now.

Now I’m left to ponder how time flies, wishing I had one more day to spend with her and at the same time excited to have uninterrupted time to focus on my business.  Of course you know I couldn’t let her leave without snapping a few shots for the album, so here’s what my baby looked like on her first day:

If you’ve browsed enough blogs, read as many posts, conversed on twitter and even social networks, then you’re bound to have come across at least one prayer request.  With so many ways to communicate (these days) and easily reach the masses, the internet has become a platform for all of our personal needs.

With that said, I recently received an email from my uncle, requesting prayers for a family friend, and I felt compelled to share it with everyone.

Family & Friends,

Keep Mr. Roy Times in your prayers.  Mr. Times had gone in for bypass
surgery
last week at St. Joseph Hospital.  During the surgery, an aneurysm
of his aorta was found.  The area was repaired during the bypass surgery.
Mr. Times began the slow healing process with the prayers of many prayer
warriors
.  During my visit with him last week, I was pleasantly surprised
to enter the ICU room to a slightly drowsy, yet coherent brother.  Before
leaving the ICU room, his rehab technician not only had him sitting up, but
standing up adjacent to his bed.  Last night, Mr. Times’ condition took a
turned for the worse.  He has been stabilized, but is in very critical
condition
Reese (wife, Judy) asked me to notify individuals about his
condition and request that family & friends continue to pray for his dad.

Mr. Times has been a father-like figure in my life, playing a key role in
developing me during my formative years.  For those who don’t know him, I
would describe him as a very kind and gentle, soft spoken Christian brother
with a very hearty laugh and a zest for life. If you know Reese you know
him.  Again, pray for Mr. Times with fervor as God continues to heal him.

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Although I do not have a personal relationship with Mr. Times, he has played a major role in my uncles life and that makes him an important part of mine.  I would appreciate any prayers and kind words you send his way.  Thanks!

I would like to give a very big shout out to Ali over @ One Chic Mommy for giving me my very first blogging award.  Woohoo!  My blog is officially “Over The Top”!

Still considering myself a newbie, (only 3 months since my first post), it’s rewarding to know there are actually people out there that are really interested in what I have to say.  And with that said, I would like to pass this award along to three of my favorite blogs:

Thank you ladies for keeping my interest peaked.  I hope that you will pass this award along to others.  I will also be creating my own award to pass along in the near future, so for the many other bloggers I’ve come to know and the blogs I love to read, I haven’t forgot about you.  Thanks!

Shopping for kids can often times become very expensive. Especially if you don’t plan ahead, know what you’re shopping for or prepare for those unexpected growth spurts.

With my son, it’s easy to shop ahead (I don’t mind him wearing his pants a little baggy, or even long because I can always roll them up).  And if you live in a city like Houston (my hometown of course), then you can always wait to purchase summer clothes during the fall season (when it’s still 90 degrees outside…lol) at deep discounted prices.

As for places I like to shop, you can’t beat the deals at outlet stores.  One of my favorites being the Gap Outlet.  And starting today, September 11th through the 24th, is the Gap Outlet Semi-Annual Baby Sale where you can save up to 40% off already reduced prices.  If you have children 5 years and under this is an event you don’t want to miss!  And thanks to the lovely Megan Calhoun, over at Twittermoms, we can all take an additional 10% off our entire purchase.  Just click on the following link to take advantage of this discount: 10% off  @ The Gap Outlet Store

To learn more about the Gap Outlet Blogging Program,  please visit the Twitter Moms Network.
And as always, don’t forget to spread the word, and check out the nifty widget below for more great deals!

I’ve always wondered how others were able to become apart of such panels like Purex, Frigidaire, Lifetime Moms and of course Disney.  I just figured they had an inside track or personal connection with these companies that I’d never achieve.  Oh how wrong was I.

Recently I came across a link to the Disney site with information about their Mom Panel and application for the 2010 recruits.  It’s just as simple as meeting a few requirements and filling out the application to be considered for a spot.

The panel is open to anyone who meets the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have access to a computer and an Internet connection.
  • Be familiar with Walt Disney World® Resort and have visited at least once in the last 12 months.
  • Be fluent in the English language.
  • Complete at least fifteen written responses per week.
  • Provide your opinions and feedback.
  • Submit an autobiography and personal photo to be posted online.
  • Be available to travel to Walt Disney World® Resort from December 4-8, 2009.
  • Be willing to participate for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Not be current employees/Cast Members of The Walt Disney Company or any of its subsidiaries, must not be immediate family members of a current employee/Cast Member of The Walt Disney Company or any of its subsidiaries, and must not currently reside with a current employee/Cast Member of The Walt Disney Company or any of its subsidiaries. In addition, participants must not be employees, contractors, advisors or consultants for, must not hold more than a de minimis ownership interest in, and must not serve on the Board of Directors of, any entity (other than The Walt Disney Company or any of its subsidiaries) which owns or operates any hotel, resort or theme park located in Orange, Osceola, Lake or Seminole Counties, Florida. Participants may not be employed, own or be a contractor in a related (travel and entertainment) industry.

If you are interested in becoming apart of Walt Disney World’s Mom Panel, then head on over to their site and fill out the application.  They will only be accepting applications up until September 20th, or once they’ve reached 20,000 applicants.

As always, if you find this post useful, please pass it along, tweet about it and of course show comment love!

I have only had my myTouch 3G for about a month now, and I absolutely love everything about it!  I decided to upgrade my phone after watching the myTouch 3G in action on youtube.  I was sold on the design, (lighter than the G1 and sleeker looking), and of course, the upgraded features (more memory and longer lasting battery).

I will admit that I am a novice when it comes to apps and the android marketplace, but the longer I use the phone, the more excited I get every time I download a new one.  So far I’ve downloaded 23 apps and counting!

A few of my favorites are Movies by Flixter (this app gives detailed info about movies in theaters, reviews, times and locations), ShopSavvy (a great app for finding the cheapest price of any item I scan with my phone…unbelievable!) and Twidgit Lite (I can’t go anywhere without being able to keep up with my fellow tweeps).  Of course many myTouch users may disagree or even claim to use better apps than the ones I’ve listed, but that’s what’s so great about this phone. You can customize it with apps that suit your needs and not others.

If you’re in the market for a new phone, or ready to upgrade the one you’ve got, this is a must have.  Of course as the owner of one, I might be a little biased (lol)!  Visit T-Mobile to learn more and check out the video below for an up close and personal look at the phone that is as personal as you!
