I am extremely excited to host my second giveaway, sponsored by Uprinting.com (an online printing company offering business cards and labels, as well as other marketing products to meet your business and personal needs). Ideal for business owners, moms and bloggers alike, this is a great opportunity to market yourself or your business for free.

I have teamed up once again, with Uprinting.com, to offer one of my readers 250 Stickers/Labels as a thank you for following my blog.  Not only are the labels free, but you will also receive free UPS Ground shipping (available in the U.S. only).

Business owners can use these labels to market their business, such as labels for their boutique products.  As for moms, you don’t need a business to take advantage of this great offer.  Why not organize the kids cubbies, or attach to gifts for the holidays. Be creative, the options are endless!

As for me, the timing (once again) couldn’t be more perfect. As I stated in the last giveaway, I am currently in the process of opening an online baby boutique and what better way to showcase my products than with 250 free labels, thanks to Uprinting.com’s blog sponsorship program.  In appreciation for hosting this giveaway, Uprinting.com is also giving me 250 free sticker/labels, and I’ve decided to use mine as labels to decorate the outside of my product boxes.

Now, I’d like to know what you’d do with yours if you won.  Below are the details for entering this giveaway:

What you’ll win:

The Deal FanaticBlogging has a way of connecting people that under normal circumstances would never cross paths.  It’s an exciting new way of communicating, making new friends, sharing experiences and learning valuable lessons.

With the vast number of blogs crawling the internet, and even greater number of new bloggers joining their ranks,  it can easily become a daunting task trying to visit them all.  Which is why I decided to start featuring a new blogger each week that we all can get to know.

This weeks featured blogger is Daisy over at The Deal Fanatic.  A self-proclaimed tech junkie and veteran blogger, Daisy and I have become tweet buddies over the past month or so.  You can visit her blog here, and get to know a little more about her below.

Featured Blog of the Week:

How long have you been blogging? I have MANY blogs.  I have had my coupon blog for almost a year. Some of my others, 4-6 years.

What inspired you to start blogging? I’ve always been a tech junkie and started using social networking before my family & friends even knew how to use e-mail. I had no choice but to reach out to others like myself just to be understood!  Now everyone is a blogger…it’s funny to me.

What is your blog about? Brought on by the “need” kept up by my natural instinct, it’s all about saving the family money. However I love the Anthropologies, Pottery Barns & everything else in the middle.  Shopping for freebies & discounts is a means to an end for me. You can read more about this as I will be featured monthly in a new E-Magazine by Noir Mommies Previewing In November 2009.

How has blogging changed your life?
Immensely!  There are SO many free things out there to be had.  So many other “mama’s” that are like me.  It’s been great to have a forum to combine the two.

What have you learned about blogging that you would like to share with others? Be unique!  Even if you offer the same topic or service, stay true to you and you will surface.  Consistency and honesty!

Name 3 blogs you love to read?  Oh easily, Chatting at the sky, The Nesting Place & The Bloggess.  They are all so quite different but yet when reading them over time…they all say the same thing, just in different ways.  I truly have too many I’m very versatile.

It is my hope that each of you will visit Daisy and give her a great big shout out courtesy of Mahogany Made.  As well, check out her favorites , you never know who’s lurking on the other side (a friend, future business partner, or even your next door neighbor).

If you are interested in being featured as “Blog of the Week”, please contact me for further details.

Karl LagerfeldImage by Siebbi via Flickr

Recently I came across an article which addressed the comments of German fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld, about the ongoing debate over models and their weight.  Though I personally have no definitive position on the issue, I felt compelled to weigh in on the subject (no pun intended).

Here is the excerpt from the article that caught my attention:

Karl Lagerfeld, the eccentric German fashion designer, has waded into the debate about size-zero models by stating that people prefer to look at “skinny models”, and those who do not are “fat mummies”.
Lagerfeld, 71, was reacting to the magazine Brigitte’s announcement last week that it will in future use “ordinary, realistic” women rather than professional models in its photoshoots. He said the decision by Germany’s most popular women’s magazine was “absurd” and driven by overweight women who did not like to be reminded of their weight issues.
“These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly,” Lagerfeld said in an interview with Focus magazine.

I do believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so here’s mine.  Women in general come in all shapes and sizes, and what may be appealing to one, may not be as appealing to another.  As well, we (as women) are more critical of ourselves than any man could ever be.  But do I sit in front of my television gawking at so called “skinny models” and calling them ugly (or better yet, wishing I looked like them)?

Absolutely not!  As an athlete by nature, I have always been physically fit (although after the birth of my second child my weight tends to fluctuate).  At my highest,(which is where I’m at right now), I’m 190lbs.  Six months ago, I weighed in at 164lbs, and my goal weight would probably be between 140 and 150lbs.

Now if you take into consideration the fact that I am 5’9 with long legs and a small waist, and that the bulk of the extra weight I gain goes to my butt and thighs (visualize that if you can), then you’d know that even at my heaviest, I am far from being overweight, although by industry standards I’d be considered “plus-sized”.

But do I gauge my self-worth by industry standards?  Maybe if I wanted to work in the fashion industry, I would feel inadequate, but as a wahm who rarely even looks at fashion magazines or runway shows on t.v., I would have to say that by all means, I am “one fine sista”.

So to Karl Lagerfeld, and all of the other individuals out there who think I care, I really don’t!

You may have noticed a few changes on my blog, and if not, stop on by and check it out!  What I’m referring to is the addition of a few new banners provided by the team over at Care.com!  It seems that they’ve decided to giveaway $12,445.00 (that’s a years worth of childcare for a family with two young children according to their calculations) to one lucky member.

In order to be eligible for the giveaway, you must sign up for a membership over at Care.com by October 9th.

They offer two memberships to fit your needs.  Their Basic Membership is free and allows you access to their site, listings of available sitters in your area, and limited information about each individual.  With the Premium Membership, you get full access, including contact information and background checks for $120/yr.

Of course I rushed right over and signed up.  As the mother of a 2 and 5 year old, I wouldn’t dare pass up on an opportunity like this!  And if you haven’t done so already, times running out.  Again, the deadline is October 9th.

To learn more about Care.com and to enter this giveaway, click on the banner below.  And let me give a great big shout out to Megan over at Twitter Moms for posting this event on the network.  Thanks!

I would like to give a very big shout out to Ali over @ One Chic Mommy for giving me my very first blogging award.  Woohoo!  My blog is officially “Over The Top”!

Still considering myself a newbie, (only 3 months since my first post), it’s rewarding to know there are actually people out there that are really interested in what I have to say.  And with that said, I would like to pass this award along to three of my favorite blogs:

Thank you ladies for keeping my interest peaked.  I hope that you will pass this award along to others.  I will also be creating my own award to pass along in the near future, so for the many other bloggers I’ve come to know and the blogs I love to read, I haven’t forgot about you.  Thanks!
